HALL OF SHAME
TESCO'S DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES THIS YEAR BY TAKING THE
MONEY AND PROMISING TO FULFILL THE FETE'S ORDER FOR ROLLS FOR THE HOG
ROAST, SAUSAGES IN A ROLL PLUS LARGE QUANTITIES OF LEMONADE
AND DRINKS. NOTHING WAS DONE - TESCO'S WERE RUDE TO THOSE WHO
THEN WENT TO TRY TO BUY SOME OFF THE SHELVES SAYING THE ORDER WOULD BE READY NEXT WEEK AND THE COLLECTORS COULD NOT HAVE
ANY AS IT WOULD EMPTY THEIR SHELVES.
LUCKILY SAINSBURY'S CAME TO THE RESCUE AND OFFERED TO BAKE MORE IF NEEDED. YOU KNOW WHERE WE WILL SHOP IN FUTURE.
The next fete will be on 11 June 2011, starting at 12 o'clock and last until 4 pm.
WHY NOT BRING YOUR OWN FOLDING CHAIRS TO ENJOY THE BAND, THE REFRESHMENTS OR THE WARFIELD PLAYERS PERFORMANCES.
The Warfield Fete is a community event which raises money for mainly local charities and groups assisting the community and suggested by committee and helpers and we are grateful for assistance, donations of sponsorship and items for sale on various stalls and raffles.
Our main charity this year is the Bracknell Forest branch of Age Concern [It is still called that at present following the recent merger]
A variety of children's entertainments and entertainers are on site to give them all a special day. Roundabouts, bouncy castles, ball parks and many other fun events are there plus all the old favorites such as the ferret races, the Morris dancers and the cakes stalls, beer and tea tents provide a welcome respite.
Help is greatly appreciated. It all has to be put up and taken down and the ground cleared up for the next day. Stalls need running, and many jobs have to be done. You too can help. This is a community group serving the community and is run in a transparent and open fashion. You might also like to become a committee member and help run the event.
